Reverend John D. Davis, Sr. - Pastor Emeritus / Associate Pastor
Reverend John D. Davis was the first pastor of Bellamy Avenue Church of God. He and a group began worshiping together at the home of Sis. Adell Worrell on Sept. 27, 1957.
A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Davis moved to Portsmouth, Virginia as a young man and worked for over 30 years at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
He was called and served in the Army during the end of World War II. After the war, he became a member of Sedley Church of God in Sedley, Virginia. There, he met and married the late Elizabeth Haywood and from this union five children were born; Shelby, Barbara, Dexter, Kenneth and Calvin.
He was ordained as a minister on March 15, 1959 and became the first Pastor of Bellamy Avenue Church of God. He served for over 30 years as the pastor before retiring in August 1989.
Though currently retired, he is still active at Bellamy Avenue Church of God and within the state of The Church of God in Virginia (COGVA).
Reverend Kim Hargrove - Associate Pastor
Reverend Kim P. Hargrove is a graduate of The College of William and Mary, where she studied religion and received a B.A. in Sociology. Rev. Hargrove became a licensed minister in 2002 and was ordained in 2004.
In 2006, she founded Thank You Lord Ministries, an evangelistic outreach ministry.
