Berkley, located in the South Hampton Roads area, was an incorporated town in Norfolk County, Virginia until 1906 when it was annexed into the City of Norfolk. It is the site of the juncture of the I-264 Downtown Tunnel (access from Norfolk to Portsmouth) and Interstate 464 (leading to Chesapeake, Virginia). The Berkley Bridge on I-264 links Berkley with the downtown area of Norfolk.
